Behavioral Coaching - Encouraging Outdoor Activities For Myopia Management

In this video, Dr. Shefali Miglani discusses the importance of encouraging outdoor activities for myopia management

Spending about 2 hours a day outdoors has been shown to significantly reduce the progression of myopia in young school children.

Here are a few tips for parents to motivate their child to spend time outdoors:

1. Encourage your child to play sports
2. Encourage your child to play catch
3. Take your child to a park for a stroll or bike ride
4. When going out, ask child to leave devices at home

Spending more time outdoors in natural sunlight is very beneficial to a child’s myopia management program.
