About Dr. Jeff Handschumacher

Dr. Jeffrey Handschumacher has been practicing optometry in North Carolina since 1999–specializing in primary eye care and contact lenses. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC). Dr Handschumacher is a Myopia Management Specialist. His goal is to help children's vision from getting worse every year.

I want to help children's vision from getting worse every year. I have worn glasses and contacts since the sixth grade and every year I went to the eye doctor, my parents were told my eyes were getting worse and I needed stronger lenses. I want to help my patients' vision from getting worse like mine did. I have been treating my son's myopia for over 3 years, and his eyes have not gotten worse during that time. I want to offer this same treatment to my patients.
